Throughout each game of Lightning, unique Time Gems will randomly drop onto the board. The notification that appears when a Time Gem is seen for the first time. It is essentially impossible to run out of moves in this game mode. Furthermore, maintaining Speed Bonuses causes the rate of gameplay to increase in which matching gems can be done faster than normal. By matching gems in quick succession, Speed Bonuses and Blazing Speed bonuses can be earned that award additional points to the score.
Lightning mode is similar to Bejeweled Blitz and Blitz mode from Bejeweled Twist in which the objective is to earn as many points as possible within a given time limit.

I can do that, but sometimes I don't get rewarded with time. X1 and x2 I find myself having lots of time gems, enough to fill the minute. But I don't understand what is making the time gems stop falling.
Does anyone know about a supposed lack of time gems dropping after about 1m30s? I have been playing this mode quite a lot and it seems that getting through this period of sparsity is the key to scoring high.
